LG has been an innovative smartphone manufacturer, and we’ve seen some out-of-the-ordinary smartphones from it recently. The LG G5 was a notable attempt at a modular smartphone, while the more recent LG G8X ThinQ and LG Velvet were foldable dual-screen models. The LG Wing is yet another one that breaks conventions with a futuristic and completely different form factor. The primary display rotates to a horizontal position, revealing a smaller secondary display below it. The LG Wing forms a “T” shape when opened, and that raises a few questions – will this form factor be useful for multitasking, or is this just a cool party trick? Here is my review of the LG Wing.

?Just Brilliant?
Akash (Jan 12, 2021)
on AmazonIf I had to define LG Wing in minimal words, I would say, ?It swivels to impress?.I was aiming to buy this for quite a while now and I finally made a purchase about a month ago, after viewing all the online videos, reading reviews, and getting opinions from various people. Here is my review of this device in the form of pros and cons that I came across:Pros of LG Wing:- The twin displays are definitely a huge plus. They can work simultaneously for just one task and you can multitask as well. I use one of the screens to play games and the other stays spared for the calls or the chat notifications I receive. Gaming using the second screen as a console is definitely a great idea which I would try very soon.- In its Gimbal mode, using the camera turns much easier. The screen stays steadier while taking photos and recording videos is also quite easy. About the camera, I should tell you that you can use both the front camera and the rear camera simultaneously and get two different videos at one moment. This is one of my favorite features.- Up till now, I have not experienced any sort of lag or jitters or hiccups even when two of the most demanding apps were working together. You can play Call of Duty while doing a video call with your friends on Facebook Messenger without experiencing any sort of lags. This means the CPU section of the device is really good and this is what I wanted while investing money in a flagship.- The RAM and the internal storage of the device are quite sufficient for all kinds of users and though 256GB was available, I went for 128GB storage because this is really huge. Even 8GB RAM is something that none can deny.-I am really happy that the build quality of the smartphone is so good. I dropped it once and had my heart in my mouth. However, even after getting a bit wet, it did not lag even a bit, and no scratches whatsoever. The battery charges really quickly. I play games even while it is connected to the charger and it still gets charged pretty quickly. There is reverse charging support as well.Cons of LG Wing:- There?s hardly anything to mention in here because the smartphone did not offer me anything for the cons section. I would have liked a 5000mAh battery more, but the original battery charges so quickly that now I think it needs nothing more.Final Verdict:5 out of 5 stars for the concept and the same for the specifications and the performance of the LG Wing. This smartphone makes you really popular in your workplace and people like to swivel it more than once. For me, this is the best one could get.

LG took a unique approach to foldable smartphones with its LG G8X ThinQ. While Samsung and Huawei were looking at flexible screens that could unfold to turn a smartphone into a tablet, LG simply slapped on a case with a second display to double the screen real estate you get. This had a few advantages, such as cost saving and the lack of a complex mechanism which made the G8X ThinQ a lot less delicate than folding phones. Now, the company has taken this approach yet again with the LG Velvet, also known as the LG Velvet 4G in international markets. The Velvet is a little different from the LG G8X ThinQ, which it’s inspired by, but does it offer the same kind of value? Check out my review to find out.

LG Velvet Review
LG Velvet Summary
The LG Velvet is the spiritual successor of the LG G8X ThinQ. It sports a big 6.8-inch display with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio. Just like the LG G8X ThinQ, the LG Velvet also has a dual screen accessory that enables dual screen functionality. The LG Velvet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor which is slightly dated at this point. LG has paired the processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. You do have the option to expand storage but it comes at the cost of the second SIM slot since the smartphone has a hybrid SIM slot.
The LG Velvet has a triple camera setup at the back consisting of a 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, it has a 16-megapixel selfie shooter positioned in the dewdrop notch at the front. The camera performance is very good and the smartphone is capable of clicking some very good photos in different lighting conditions. The air on the phone is quick to recognise what it is pointed to words and in lowlight, the Night mode is very useful in order to extract more detail out of the image. Very good and the smartphone is capable of clicking some very good photos in different lighting conditions. The AI on the phone is quick to recognise what it is pointed towards. In lowlight, the Night mode helps the smartphone capture better details.
Smartphone performance is good but considering it has a dated processor it isn’t as powerful as some of the recent smartphones in the market. The dual screen accessory is useful especially if you are into multitasking. The 4300mAh battery is good enough to provide about a day and a half worth of battery life. However, it does not have a fast charger bundled in the box. There is support for Quick Charge 3 support and you can buy a compatible charger to enable fast charging.

Mobile phone Sony Xperia L. Price 3533 ₽. Delivery in Russia
From 3533 ₽
Relatively inexpensive smartphone, the younger brother of the Xperia SP. It differs, in particular, in a slightly reduced and simplified screen (4.3″, 854×480), a more modest processor (1 GHz with the same two cores), as well as the lack of LTE support. At the same time, an extensive set of communications remained unchanged: the Wi-Fi module supports Hot-Spot and Direct modes, the Bluetooth version is 4.0, and there is an NFC chip. The same applies to the characteristics of the camera: 8-megapixel optics has an image stabilizer and is capable of shooting video at a resolution of 1920×1080.
