1. Samsung Galaxy S22 series
Eric Zeman / Android Authority
Samsung kickstarts every year with its most popular smartphone line-up, and 2022 was no exception. Samsung’s flagship trifecta was announced at its Unpacked event, revealing a trio of what are all but guaranteed to be among the most popular handsets for a while. These are the Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra.
More: These are the best Samsung phones currently available
The base Samsung Galaxy S22 is the most affordable of the three, followed by the S22 Plus, and the priciest one is the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Aside from the display and reduced battery sizes, though, differences between the former are kept to a minimum, which means the experience should be very similar across the board. In fact, it’s tough to tell either the Galaxy S22 or S22 Plus apart from its S21 predecessor.
The S22 Ultra is the one that stands out the most, thanks to its more impressive camera setup and S Pen support. It looks closer to a Galaxy Note 20 successor than a standard S-series flagship. However, all come with an impressive Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and all the high-end specs you’ve come to expect from a modern flagship handset.

The Galaxy S21 FE lands right in the middle of the vanilla Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus. It feels more premium in hand, thanks to its metal frame. The rear panel of the Galaxy S21 FE comes in four clean colors: white, Graphite, Olive, and Lavender. Apple’s flagship line has stayed at four devices for the second year in a row — improving on the flaws of the previous 5.4-inch iPhone 12 Mini. It matches the rest in terms of CPU and a pair of 12MP shooters, but Apple gave the battery a boost in hopes of it lasting a bit longer. You’ll find a glossy glass finish on both the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini, though the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max opt for a frosted glass finish, and they jump to 6GB of RAM.

4. Google Pixel 6 series
Robert Triggs / Android Authority
Google flipped the script last year by offering a midrange Pixel 5. Now, it’s firmly back in the flagship camp with its latest Pixel 6 series. Not only that, but Google found a way to push high-end specs without the premium price tag. Both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro pack plenty of updates, and they more than justify the cost.
For starters, Google ditched Qualcomm for its latest devices. Instead, you’ll find a Google Tensor chip at home on both models. This allows for better use of Google’s machine learning and image processing, as well as longer future updates. You can choose between the 6.4-inch Pixel 6 and the 6.7-inch Pixel 6 Pro, along with a solid set of colors.

Google’s other key change is in the camera department. It’s impossible to miss the hefty camera bar across the rear Gorilla Glass Victus panel. Said camera bar packs an all-new 50MP primary lens backed up by a 12MP ultra-wide option. If you go for the Pixel 6 Pro, you get a 48MP telephoto lens to boot, good for up to 4x optical zoom.

- RAM: 8GB
- Storage: 128/256GB

These devices are outfitted with a large variety of features to consider, including a speakerphone, clear display screen, and Bluetooth functionality. These phones also come in many different colors, allowing the consumer to select a system that can be visually appealing and matches their specific taste.
What are some available Samsung models to choose from?
These Samsung prepaid phones come mostly from the Galaxy line of smartphones, which itself provides a large selection of models. Under the Galaxy product line, some of the main series that are available include the Core, J, Note, and S series. A few other product lines that users can select from with these Verizon prepaid phones include the Continuum, Convoy, Intensity, and Stratosphere lines, ensuring that the consumer chooses the model that matches their needs and specifications.
What are some features found in these smartphones?
The features that are provided when selecting one of these Verizon prepaid smartphones depends on the model that is selected. Most models use the Android operating system and are compatible with both 3G and 4G LTE data networks for high-speed internet. The majority also provide users with access to an internet browser that comes pre-installed with Bluetooth capabilities, a speakerphone, a multi-touch touchscreen, voice-activated dialing, and TTY compatibility.
Most of these phones come equipped with a fingerprint sensor that allows the device only to unlock when accessed with the use of a fingerprint. Many of these systems include settings for a GPS, a music player to store a music collection, wireless charging capabilities, a small amount of water resistance, and push-to-talk functionality. A subset of these models is outfitted with technology that allows users to record videos that film at a resolution of 4K, which is defined as an ultra-high definition. When shooting in 4K, most Verizon prepaid devices offer the option of shooting at either 30 or 60 frames per second.
Which colors do these phones come in?
These phones are available in a wide array of colors, the most common of which are blue and black, although the inner portion of these systems is always a solid black, particularly around the keyboard and display. The exteriors of these phones typically come in blue, black, or gray, the latter of which is slightly less common than the other two. White, silver, and purple are color shades that are commonly available. Those who wish to select one with a unique color can choose from gold, multi-color, clear, and red.

The only “requirement” for each user is to have a Verizon phone.
So if you’re not quite sure how to unlock your Verizon phone, be sure to follow the steps below. We will show you step by step how to unlock your phone in just a couple of seconds. Like this!
Unlock Verizon Phone
Verizon has made it easy for years to unlock one of their phones with an unlock code. Verizon doesn’t have a request portal or step-by-step instructions for unlocking phones; in fact, they don’t even have a list of requirements that you must follow to unlock it. This is because Verizon keeps all of their phones unlocked from the start.
All 4G LTE smartphones with SIM cards are already unlocked. You can transfer your phone to another carrier at any time – even if you bought it just a few minutes ago! Here is Verizon’s official statement:
“We do not block most phones or tablets that are activated with our postpaid service, either during or after the term of your service contract or Device Payment Plan installment sale agreement. We do not lock our 4G LTE devices and no code is required to program them for use with another carrier.”
See? An unlock code is not required. Of course, there are a few things to keep in mind when you take yours. Most Verizon phones recently released will work flawlessly on GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile – even when it comes to texting, calling, and LTE features; however, Verizon has been a CDMA carrier for many years, meaning that this is the primary network on which many of its phones operate. So, naturally, some of the older phones may not have the GSM radios required for calling and texting in the US, let alone LTE capability. Again, you should be fine with any of the latest Verizon phones, but you’ll need to look into some of the older ones (or even just grab one for a test run).
If you’re having trouble using your Verizon phone with a SIM card on a different network, you can call 888-294-6804 for help.
Many textured 3G devices can sort be unlocked without a code. There are two preset codes that you can use to unlock them – “000000” or “123456”. However, there are brands of 3G devices that require a special code. That brand is Verizon’s World Devices and you are needs to talk to a Verizon technician to unlock it, or use the third party service we’ll talk about in a moment.
Prepaid devices are slightly different. Like 3G postpaid devices, many of them can be unlocked with the preset codes “000000” or “123456”; however, many off-the-shelf prepaid devices need to be activated for 12 months before you can unlock them. Luckily, there is a way around this with third party unlock companies.
Use a third party service
As you can see, unlocking a smartphone with a 4G LTE SIM card is quite easy, but it gets a little more difficult when it comes to 3G and prepaid devices. After all, the carrier definitely wants you to be on their network and not on a competitor’s network. However, you can skip Verizon’s red tape by simply using a third-party service to unlock your phone.
