Tracfone Moto E XT830C Review (Specs and Feature)

Moto E XT830C as one of the Android smartphone that support Tracfone prepaid service is a powerful smartphone that offer plenty features with affordable cost that could be the next best thing for any Tracfone customer.

Motorola produces lots of different phone where Moto E XT830C is one of those phones that are available in low cost without sacrificing its performance. At the end of 2014, Tracfone added this phone as part of the phone that use their prepaid service and it add the long list of smartphone for Tracfone customer to choose.

It may not be the biggest smartphone from Tracfone, but with its 4.3 inches of touch screen, it is big enough to provide user with clear view about everything on the screen. It use Android version 4.4 as it OS that still usable and compatible with lots of apps in Play Store up until this day.

The good thing about the OS of this phone is that it will continue to update to the latest version because it was made with partnership with Google. It means that user of this phone don’t have to worry for not being able to enjoy the great things that comes with the latest version of Android this day.

The screen is also protected by Gorilla Glass 3, which is strong enough to deal with daily use so people can expect the phone to be able to stand for long time. Perhaps one of the best things that this phone can offer is the long hour of talk time. With it 1980 mAh battery, this phone able to last for 16.5 hours of talk time and 30 days of standby time.

That is a record for Android smartphone who usually only have less than 10 hours of talk time and around 2 weeks of standby time. With this kind of ability, people don’t have to worry for running out of battery in the middle of hectic day where they are too busy to charge the phone.

The phone use 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 1 GB RAM and 4 GB internal memory. This combination may not seem much but it is more than enough to give good phone performance even when the phone was used for multitasking. Just like most of the smartphone this day, it also comes with external Micro SD card that can keep another 32 GB of additional data.

So far this phone seems very solid, but still it has some aspect that some people think as its weakness. First, it only has a 5 MP camera without any front facing camera. It also doesn’t have flash features that could help to capture better picture in low light area.

The last thing that people need to know is that the battery of this phone is non-removable. There is no way that the user can change the batter with spare battery and if there problem with it, they may have to change the phone as well.

Other than those weaknesses, this phone is indeed a solid one. It is also available at affordable price where Tracfone offered the reconditioned one for $19.99. People who want to have a better deal for the new one could also look for this phone in other places including Amazon and eBay, depend on their personal preference.

TracfoneReviewer: Tracfone MOTO E (XT830C)

Tracfone Moto E Android Smartphone is Available!

This post provides details and specs for the Moto E XT830C which is has recently become available for use with Tracfone We will continue to update as more information arrives.

Moto E for Tracfone Now Available

Tracfone continues to (slowly) release new Android powered smartphones to add to their offering of prepaid mobile devices and the Moto E from Motorola is the latest announcement. Tracfone is a low cost prepaid cell phone service provider with a variety of both regular phones and smartphones.

The Motorola XT830C, which is more commonly referred to as simply the Moto E, is a powerful little smartphone running Android 4.4 and giving users a 4.3″ touchscreen.

UPDATE: The Moto E is now available from several sources, including eBay, and Target stores. See below for links to the phone.

The Moto E comes from a small family of three phones produced by Motorola and is the lowest cost. The higher end Moto X, and extremely popular mid-level Moto G fill out this selection of highly rated phones. While there are some reports of the Moto G working with Tracfone BYOP, it is anything but easy or certain, so the Moto E may be the next best thing for many Tracfone customers.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace Style (not yet released) and the LG Optimus Fuel (available) are the two previous new phones to come to Tracfone. Each have upgrades that other Tracfone Androids don’t have, but they still don’t have everything consumers are looking for. Perhaps with the Moto E, and two other smartphones new to Tracfone, users will find a mobile device that fits their needs.

Along with the newly released Moto E, there are two more exciting phones currently available. The LG L41C Ultimate 2 and Alcatel A564C which each sport screens larger than 4.5″ inches (more information on these phones available at the links above!). Many Tracfone users have been hoping for Android devices with screens larger than 4″, so these phones are very exciting to hear about.

Let’s take a closer look at what the Moto E offers, including some of the important specifications.

Tracfone Moto E Specifications and What to Expect

The Moto E is better than some of Tracfones other smartphones like the LG Optimus Dynamic II and LG Optimus Fuel in several areas. (But each phone has certain strengths and weaknesses). The two biggest features for the Moto E that set it apart are the 4.3″ screen, and 1GB of RAM.

Below is the full list of features and specs for the Moto E:

Tracfone Moto E
  • Android 4.4
  • 3G on Verizon CDMA Networks
  • WiFi
  • 5MP Rear Camera
  • Micro USB 2.0 port
  • 3.5mm Headphones
  • 4GB Micro SD Card
  • Bluetooth
  • GPS
  • FM Radio
  • Handsfree Speaker, MMS, Alarm clock
  • MP3 Player, Proximity Sensor
  • Call Waiting, Caller ID, Voice Dialing
  • Triple Minutes for Life

Moto E Specs and Features:

  • Size: 4.91″ x 2.55″ x 0.48″
  • 4.3″ qHD Touchscreen at 256ppi (540×960) and Gorilla Glass 3
  • 1.2 Ghz Dual-core processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 4 GB Internal Memory, up to 32 GB External MicroSD slot
  • Weight: 5 ounces
  • 1980 mAh battery with 16. 5 hrs talk time/30 days standby

Some of you might be very excited for the opportunity to have a Tracfone Smartphone with a dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. The Moto E is expected to be a great overall smartphone with its solid features and specs. And because it was made in partnership with Google, it will likely continue to be updated with the latest Android OS.

We could go on about the 4.3″ screen, 1.2 Ghz processor, and all the other specs, but you probably get the idea that the Moto E comes with many features that beat Tracfone’s other smartphones. However, the lack of a front facing camera (which the Alcatel Onetouch and LG Ultimate 2 both have, is a bit disappointing).

But let’s move on and look at where the newly released Moto E might even be available.

A quick note, as one visitor mentioned in the comments, the Moto E doesn’t have a front facing camera, nor flash, and the battery cannot be removed. These are some cons for the phone worth being aware of.

What to Expect and Where is the Tracfone Moto E Available?

The Moto E will be for use on Verizon CDMA towers and you can probably expect the same kind of service as many of Tracfone’s other current smartphones.

All of Tracfone’s Android smartphones come with Triple Minutes for Life, and minutes are separated into talk, text and data. For a full explanation about this, view our Guide to How Minutes Work with Tracfone Android Phones.

Now, the big question most of you are asking is, where can you find the Moto E?

The Moto E is popping up in several places online, starting at $99:

Tracfone Moto E on Amazon – $99

Tracfone Moto E on eBay – $99

Tracfone Moto E with 600 Minutes on eBay – $129

Tracfone Moto E with 1200 Minutes on eBay – $149

You can also find the Moto E on the ShopCellDeals website.

Some people have also found the Moto E in Target stores.

The retail price for an unlocked Moto E is about $120 and the Tracfone Moto E for is available for a little less, but may still eventually be listed on the Tracfone website for $120.

We will keep you updated with the latest information on the Moto E. As soon as we find it available we will update this page. Stay even more up to date by following us on Facebook where we share lots of information on the latest Tracfone devices, as well as Tracfone Promo Codes!

Motorola Moto E20 smartphone review – i2HARD

Reviews

Ivan Popov

March 7, 2022

Cheap doesn’t mean bad. Motorola Moto E20 pleasantly surprises.

Today we will consider a budget smartphone from Motorola – Moto E20. With its price, which is less than 10 tr., the device has practically no competitors in terms of performance. The hero of our review received a bunch of Unisoc T606 and the Mali G57MC2 graphics accelerator, which is more familiar to mid-budget devices, but not outright state employees.

In addition to outstanding (in its class) performance, the Moto E20 boasts excellent battery life (4,000 mAh battery) and a large screen that should be well suited for multimedia.

On paper, everything looks good. Let’s see what the smartphone is really capable of.

Specifications

  • Display – 6.5″, IPS
  • Display resolution – 1600 x 720
  • Processor – Unisoc T606, 1600 MHz, 8-core
  • RAM – 2 GB
  • Built-in memory – 32 GB
  • Main camera – 13MP, F/2. 2
  • Front camera – 5 MP
  • Headphone socket – 3.5 mm
  • USB interface – USB Type-C
  • Communications – WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS
  • Battery capacity – 4000 mAh
  • Dimensions (WxHxD) – 75.5 x 164.8 x 8.5 mm
  • Weight – 184 grams

Packaging and delivery

The smartphone comes in a dark blue cardboard box. On the front side is the brand logo, as well as the name of the model. The lower part is more informative. The smartphone itself is shown here, as well as some technical specifications.

The delivery set is the minimum required. In addition to the smartphone itself, the box contains a charger with a cable, documentation, and a paper clip to remove the tray.

Design

Moto E20 pleases the eye at first sight. The appearance and design of the smartphone is completely different from most “colleagues” in terms of price. The device looks stylish, interesting and even expensive. The device is supplied in two colors: blue and gray. The latter came to us for testing.

The weight and dimensions of the device are average. Despite the fact that a large 6.5-inch screen is installed, it was possible not to inflate the dimensions of the device thanks to thin bezels on the sides and top. According to this indicator, the smartphone may well compete with significantly more expensive models. After all, annoying thick frames, like most state employees, are not in sight. The weight is 184 g, which is quite expected, given the 4 mAh battery inside.

The back cover deserves special attention. The entire area, except for the camera area, has a textured honeycomb pattern. This solution looks very unusual and attractive. And in bright light or sunlight, the hexagons open in all their glory and shimmer fervently. The panel is made of practical matte plastic. The material is pleasant to the touch. In addition, it has good grip. Thanks to this, the smartphone lies perfectly in the hand and does not slip. The weight is evenly distributed, so the device does not lean in one direction.

The quality of workmanship is at the highest level. All details are perfectly adjusted to each other. When squeezing and twisting, there are no squeaks and backlashes. The back cover coating is easy to clean and very reluctant to collect dust and minor scratches. Here you can also note the presence of protection according to the IP52 standard. Yes, you can’t dive with a smartphone, but splash protection is also very good. Especially when you consider that we have a budget smartphone.

The main camera protrudes slightly above the body plane and is located in the upper left corner. Before us is a dual camera and a flash. There is a mention that the camera is with “AI”.

A little lower there is a fingerprint scanner, which flaunts the manufacturer’s logo.

On the right side there are as many as three physical buttons instead of the usual two. In addition to the standard volume rocker and power button, the manufacturer also equipped the smartphone with a smart button. By default, it activates the assistant. There is a 3.5mm headset port on the top end. The decision to leave him is a definite plus. Still, we have a budget device. On the left is a tray for SIM-cards and memory cards. And yes, the tray is full, uncombined. That is, you can install two SIM cards and a memory card at the same time. But this is already an indisputable plus, which can be decisive for someone.

At the bottom, there is a USB-C port, as well as the main speaker.

Shield

Moto E20 became the proud owner of a 6.5-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 1600 x 720. PPI (pixel density per inch) is 270. The figure, of course, is low. Individual pixels can be seen if desired, but in standard use the image does not appear grainy at all.

Viewing angles are good, as expected from an IPS panel. Even with a serious deviation from the right angle, there are no significant distortions. The uniformity of the backlight is also pleased. There are practically no overexposure zones in the dark field.

The maximum brightness is 440 nits. This indicator is enough for more or less comfortable work in bright ambient light. Under the open sun, the image fades significantly, but remains quite readable. As for a budget smartphone, this indicator can be considered quite acceptable and even good. The contrast ratio is 1800:1, which is also very good. The minimum brightness is at 5 nits. Therefore, the smartphone can be comfortably used in complete darkness. The screen will not blind.

Color rendition also did not disappoint. The gamma curves are not quite heaped, but the spread is small. In addition, they are in close proximity to the reference curve.

The color channels are stable throughout, but the blue is noticeably high and separates from the rest.

The color temperature is noticeably higher than the reference value. From this, some shades may seem coldish.

The color gamut is slightly superior to the sRGB standard. Especially in the red-green gradient zone.

Points of the gray wedge are clustered and do not fall within the DeltaE<10 range. Therefore, spurious shades are possible on a gray gradient.

OS

The smartphone is running Android 11. The interface has been slightly changed. All main functions are saved. There is no pre-installed additional software, which is good news.

However, the first time you connect to the Internet, “mandatory” programs begin to install.

Performance

The smartphone has an octa-core Unisoc T606. And in the role of a graphics accelerator, we have the Mali G57MC2, which is more familiar to mid-budget models than outright state employees. It also has 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. If you do not take into account the amount of permanent memory, then almost no “brother” in terms of price can compete with the hero of the review. Such a filling will be enough for simple everyday use and undemanding applications and games without a hint of delays and freezes.

The results of synthetic tests are quite expected.

In field use, the smartphone confirms all the words about good performance and speed. Any undemanding applications, be it instant messengers, browsers, simple games, etc., work without any problems. Everything is smooth, without delays and other troubles. Switching between applications is fast.

Thanks to the installation of a large screen with decent brightness and color reproduction, the smartphone is great for multimedia, surfing and other everyday tasks. The quality of the main speaker is also at a decent level. The sound cannot be called frankly squeaky. At the same time, the speaker demonstrates a fairly high volume.

32 GB of permanent memory in modern realities is very little. Fortunately, it is possible to install a memory card without sacrificing SIM-cards. This corrects the situation with the lack of space and eliminates one of the main drawbacks of the model.

Also, the smartphone has all the necessary set of wireless communications, namely: Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11n and GPS.

Autonomy

In terms of autonomy, Moto E20 shows excellent results. The smartphone is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery. Given the undemanding screen and not the most voracious stuffing, this should be quite enough for several days of work. Regular charging has a power of 10 W and charges the battery up to 100% in 3 hours.

In practice, one charge, even with the most active use, is easily enough for a working day. With sparing use, a smartphone can easily live for two to three days.

The results of the synthetic test confirm the words about excellent autonomy.

Camera

The main camera has a resolution of 13 + 2 megapixels. For its price, the smartphone demonstrates quite bright and saturated pictures with good detail.
