GRACE UNDER PRESSURE

The patented ribbed corners on the Solo-Baric L7 Santoprene™ surrounds are constantly defeating distortion while adding control to make your bass loud AND clear – even with thousands of watts pumping through them.

SOLO STRENGTH

KICKER’s most advanced cone design, the injection-molded SoloKon™ adds 360-degree, constant-contact back bracing for a woofer that’s stronger, more reliable, and incredibly responsive.

TAKE THE HEAT

The cooler a sub is, the longer it’ll play. KICKER’s UniPlate™ back plate and pole piece are a single, solid unit, which allows heat to move away from the motor. Venting below the spider allows even more air to move, and heat to escape. Your subs play cool, as your music keeps bumping!

MATERIAL WITNESS

Choosing the right materials makes all the difference. Heavy duty tinsel. A thick, semi-progressive spider. Dual high-temperature voice coils. Ceramic magnets. A forged aluminum frame. All this technology comes together to get the juice exactly where it needs to go. From your amps, right to your ears!

Fresh Water Bump

The materials used in the L7S series makes them a perfect choice for adding some bass to your boat.*

*Extreme durability in fresh-water applications only (not recommended for salt water)

  • As the woofer’s cone moves downward, hot air around the voice coil is forced out of the woofer.
  • As the woofer’s cone moves upward, cool outside air is drawn into the woofer cooling the voice coil.

Immense bass

Kicker builds the Solo-Baric L7 component subwoofer to deliver state-of-the-art bass. An ultra-rigid cast aluminum basket houses the patented SoloKon™ one-piece square cone to create a speaker that moves lots more air than a comparably sized round sub. The precision-built motor structure won’t yield to stress, giving you chest-thumping low end that won’t quit when you push your system hard.

Built tough

The Solo-Baric L7 Series 11S12L74 12″ subwoofer features an injection-molded polypropylene cone that works with a tough Santoprene™ rubber surround to dish out monster bass in a sealed or ported enclosure. Its unusual shape and black finish make a strong style statement, and you can add an optional grille to further enhances its looks. This sub packs dual high-temperature 4-ohm voice coils, giving you the flexibility to build a multiple sub setup or to draw more power from your amp with a low-impedance load.

Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for lower impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible.

Features

Dual Voice Coils: For increased system flexibility, the woofer
has two 4 ohm voice coils. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer
presents a 2 ohm load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents
an 8 ohm load.

Square Design: By making the Solo-Baric square, Kicker is giving
you the most possible cone area (Sd) for a given size baffle, 16% to 20% more area
than a conventional round subwoofer. More cone area means the Solo-Baric L7 moves
more air, resulting in louder, deeper bass.

Cone Material: The square SoloKon design is a unique one-piece
construction, using polypropylene material that moves as a lightweight piston, for
improved control. The cone remains rigid, minimizing cone flex and distortion. A
rear cone brace integrates into the cone with a continuous contact perimeter weld,
which improves strength and resistance to deformation under pressure.

Surround: The tough, flexible Santoprene rubber surround has
a long-throw, positive-roll design, which controls extreme cone excursion and is
highly tear-resistant. The corners of the surround are ribbed to ensure linear
cone motion. The surround is stitched to the reinforced cone edge, making separation
between them virtually impossible, even in the harshest conditions.

Spider: The woofer is equipped with a wide poly-cotton spider
which easily handles high cone excursions due to its increased diameter and unique
shape.

Enhanced BAM (Basket And Motor) Assembly: The Solo-Baric L7
utilizes a high strength stamped steel basket which features a low-profile open
design and provides a solid foundation for the precision-aligned motor assembly.
Perimeter venting in the BAM relieves pressure from under the spider, supports
linear excursion, and helps dissipate heat from the voice coil and motor structure.

Voice Coils: The dual ultra length voice coils sustain enormous
cone excursion and provide flexible impedance matching options. The high-temperature
Polyimide Film Voice Coil former improves sonic and conducive properties, and prevents
thermal-electrical meltdown. The voice coils are rated to 220° Celsius.

UniPlate Construction: The Solo-Baric L7 features a one-piece
UniPlate construction with a vented hyper-extended pole piece and backplate. This
unique design provides the following benefits:

  • Optimizes heat transfer efficiency for cooler operation
    and maximum power handling capability
  • Eliminates erratic magnetic flux from the voice coil gap
  • Releases pressure under the suspension for uniform cone
    movement and responsive low bass
  • Prevents the voice coil from bottoming out and the
    corresponding damage

Tinsel Lead Wires: The sleeved, high-power tinsel lead wires
eliminate broken leads and power loss, due to the common use of insufficient gauge
lead wires. The lead wires are terminated with multiple polymer-based strain relieving
mechanical fasteners.

Speaker Terminals: The terminals are spring loaded and nickel
plated for solid connections with speaker wire up to 10 gauge.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker Solo-Baric
L7 woofers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass
response. The high-performance suspension system makes the speakers very stiff
out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension
to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A broken-in subwoofer will exhibit
stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Enclosure Compatibility

Recommended Sealed Box Volume:

  • Compact (minimum enclosure volume): 1.25
    cubic feet
  • SQ (maximum enclosure volume): 2. 0 cubic
    feet

Recommended Vented Box Volume:

  • Compact: 1.75 cubic feet; 2.5″
    x 13.25″ port opening; 22.5″ port length
  • SQ: 3.25 cubic feet; 3″ x 13.25″
    port opening; 14.5″ port length

Cutout: The woofer will not mount in a standard enclosure
with a round cutout. Instead, the woofer must be mounted in an enclosure with
a 11.048″ x 11.048″ square opening.

I’m afraid not–if one of your dual coils is damaged or not working, you would not get good bass performance when wiring it as a single voice coil. You would likely want to replace the sub all together. For more information or to discuss further, feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Audition speakers before you buy

SpeakerCompare simulates the sound of home and car speakers through your headphones. It lets you compare sonic characteristics between speakers so that you can make a more informed shopping decision.

Why selecting your headphones is important

SpeakerCompare tailors your listening experience to the exact headphones you have, so that what you hear is comparable to auditioning speakers side-by-side in person. Knowing which model headphones you’re using lets us remove any sonic coloring from your experience.

Two different listening modes

In an actual listening room, you’d find that some speakers play louder than others when fed the same amount of power. In equal power mode, you’ll hear these differences in loudness as they naturally occur between speakers.

In equal volume mode, we’ve made the loudness of each speaker about the same. This gives you a more direct comparison of subtle voicing differences between speakers.

Nothing beats listening to speakers in your space

SpeakerCompare gives you a sense of the sonic differences. But performance in the real world is affected by the acoustics of your car or home, your choice of amplification, and your source material. We still believe that the gold standard for auditioning speakers is hearing them in your own environment — that’s why we offer a 60-day money-back guarantee.

Our Listening Kit

To help you choose the right speakers, we recommend using Crutchfield’s SpeakerCompare Listening Kit. It includes a pair of studio-quality headphones, and a guide to getting the most out of your session, and a few other necessary items. We’ve carefully chosen the components of this kit to ensure a crystal-clear listening experience. It’s available for a nominal rental fee, and includes a $25 Crutchfield merchandise credit.

Kicker Car Subwoofers – Huge selection at the best prices

Kicker Car Subwoofers

Kicker car subwoofers are car audio performance systems. They are available in two styles: round and square. If you are looking for a sound system that is durable and produces a strong bass sound, Kicker car subwoofers have a line to choose from, and the questions and answers below may give you the information you need to decide.

What are some of the Kicker car subwoofer options?

Kicker car audio subwoofers have different features that you can choose from depending on your preferences. These include the size, voice coil, and type. Kicker car subwoofers are available in sizes ranging from 6.5 inches to 15 inches. Their voice coils include single and dual models available in enclosed non-powered and powered types. These voice coil wires are designed to work under high temperatures, which allows the subwoofers to handle a lot of power.

Kicker car subwoofers also feature ohms-impedance and a power handling capacity of over 1,000 watts. They have exterior carpeting meant to ensure durability and internal bracing designed for improved audio quality.

What are the features of the Kicker Impulse 1X702?

The Kicker Impulse IX702 plays clear music at all volume levels. This amp has a built-in switchable crossover, which allows you to set your musical preferences. It also has ohms-impedance, which controls the power to ensure your speaker works at optimal levels. Other speaker qualities that enhance the performance of this subwoofer include the following:

  • A stereo or bridged mono output
  • MOSFET power supply
  • A frequency response of 20 to 20,000Hz
  • A 70 watts x 2 at 4 ohms, 210 watts x 1 in bridged mode and a 105 watts x 2 at 2 ohms
  • A 0-18 dB bass boost centered at 40Hz and a 0-12 dB centered at 18,000Hz

Can a Kicker car subwoofer box improve the stereo’s sound?

Subwoofer boxes are crucial in bringing out the desired sound you want. The Kicker car subwoofer has enclosures that can handle up to 1,500 watts of sound and still enhance the audio delivery. These enclosures include the CompR, CompRT, CompD, and CompVR.

The CompVR enclosure is designed to be strong and reliable regardless of the volume. This box has an all-weather slim sub that is meant to make it possible to mount the speaker under all weather types. This enclosure has a 1-ohm dual voice design and a thick magnet for control and for reliability, quality delivery, and high-volume audio without affecting the mounting depth. Finally, it also has enhanced thermal management with a back plate and pole piece, which is to help the CompVR function under high temperatures.
