    Repair will take place at the Institute of Natural Sciences and Technosphere Safety of SakhSU. The facade, entrance groups, as well as the hall and classrooms on the ground floor will be updated in the educational institution. In September, high school students here will study in depth the exact and natural sciences and information technologies within the framework of the 500 schoolchildren project, the press service of the government of the Sakhalin Region reported.

    Cosmetic repairs will take place in the classrooms of computer science, mathematics, biology and physics. They will also equip scientific laboratories in chemistry and a teacher’s room. All rooms are located on the first floor. Lectures for schoolchildren will be held in the afternoon, in their free time from school.

    “Children will come into contact with real science, will have the opportunity to work on projects together with our professors, candidates and doctors of science. They will then be able to submit their developments to scientific and practical conferences of the all-Russian level, declare themselves and receive higher education free of charge, ”said Alexander Samardak, Acting Rector of Sakhalin State University.

    The scientific laboratories of the island’s main university will be opened for talented high school students. For example, in one of them the most famous experiments of Nobel laureates in physics are collected and digitized. There are only two such laboratories in Russia.

    “In August, it is necessary to complete the main amount of cosmetic repairs on the ground floor – paint, whitewash, make electrical wiring, change doors, renew ceilings. It is also necessary to update the facade, entrance groups and courtyard area, so that in the new academic year, not only schoolchildren, but also students would be pleased to return to the institute. It’s good that we managed to enlist the support of the federal center and start building an advanced scientific and educational center. But this is a prospect, the university needs to close the needs of students and create acceptable conditions for them right now,” emphasized Valery Limarenko.

    In the future, not only the first, but also other floors of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Technosphere Safety are expected to be transformed. On the second floor, laboratories for electronics, alternative energy, information technology and artificial intelligence will be equipped. The third one will house complexes for aqua biogenetic technologies, the fourth one will house chemical and materials science clusters. On the plinth there are special pools with filtration for breeding mariculture. Study programs for students are developed jointly with potential employers — large enterprises (Gidrostroy, Sberbank, etc. ).

    As a reminder, preparatory work for the construction of the world-class SakhalinTech campus has already started in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The scientific and educational complex should be built on the site of the former House of Officers in 2026. About 1,500 students will study the most popular specialties there. A modern student campus will appear on Pobedy Avenue.
