15 Best Gaming Headphones With Mic 2019
Some of the top-selling games of late require both good communication with each other and careful attention to your surroundings. If you want to be the best, you need a gaming headset that can provide the tools you need to win.
Gaming headsets come in all shapes and sizes and are as unique as the wearer.
If you don’t know which headsets are right for you, don’t worry, we’ve researched the headphone market and hope we can help you find the best one for you, like Senka’s hat.
We’ve categorized our top picks to make it easier to find favorites, and even if you’re on a tight budget, we’ve also found some of the best value for money headsets.

We wish that choosing a gaming headset was as easy as asking “which one is best?”. But it depends on what you value most: impressive sound quality, a crystal clear microphone, wireless connectivity, or just something that won’t make you uncomfortable after a few hours of use.
Before we begin, there are a few things you need to know about gaming headsets. In terms of clean recording and sound quality, they are generally less effective than a standalone mic/headphone combo.
However, headsets offer more portability, better noise cancellation (if you don’t have a separate mic stand), and there are often separate volume controls that are easy to adjust quickly, so they’re great for gaming.
They also tend to be a lot cheaper than a high-quality pair of headphones, so unless you’re looking for the best sound quality possible, a gaming headset is a good choice.
How do you know if a gaming headset is good or not? Well, there are a number of things you can look at that will tell you about their quality. First, take a look at their construction: what are they made of?
If it’s all hard plastic, it will probably become uncomfortable to wear after a few hours, which is not what you want. Instead, look for a product with soft cups and, if possible, an adjustable headband.
Your comfort is paramount – no matter how good the sound is, you are unlikely to use a product that is painful to wear.
Audio specifications
Typically, several different audio characteristics are listed with a gaming headset. It is not always obvious what they mean, but we will try to explain.
The first main characteristic you will see is the frequency response. Simply put, frequency response refers to the range of sounds that a headset can reproduce cleanly. A wider range does not necessarily mean better sound quality, given that most people can only hear sounds in the 20Hz-20kHz range. To complicate matters, different headsets with the same frequency range may have different sound profiles and may sound completely different. That’s why it’s important to always listen to a headset before buying, if possible.
The next characteristic is the diameter of the drivers. It is specified in millimeters, and generally speaking, the larger the driver, the better. Due to their good sound profile, larger drivers are capable of producing stronger bass, but this characteristic is often overstated. There are many other things that play a big role in contributing to sound quality, so don’t buy a headset based on the “bigger is better” mindset.
You should also try to find a headset with a noise canceling microphone. This helps to hide unnecessary noises like your keyboard clicks, but at the same time make sure your teammates can hear your every word.
Virtual Surround Sound
Some headsets have built-in 7.1 virtual surround sound technology. This will really help you get an edge in multiplayer games, as you can hear exactly where the sound is coming from, giving you a couple of extra seconds to prepare for the enemy.
If you’re willing to spend a lot of money on a headset, there’s no reason to buy one without 7.1 virtual surround sound. This will not only help you in the game, but also help you immerse yourself in any movies: in short, it’s a win-win.
Best Budget Gaming Headsets
So you’ve done a little research and found that most of the recommended headsets have big names and cost hundreds of dollars. Take a deep breath and here is the solution. We’ve found two great gaming headsets under $50 that we think will fit your needs (and your budget).
Sades A60
The first is SADES A60, a classic black and white/blue headset with delicate curved edges. It has soft leather earcups that are comfortable to wear for extended periods of time, plus a grounded microphone. This reduces the crackling noise that occurs when the microphone angle is adjusted. The sound quality on this headset is impressive considering how little it costs: there’s a good balance between bass and treble, as well as noise cancellation so you can focus on the game and not the other sounds in your room.
Because this model is inexpensive, there are some compromises to consider. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with consoles, and uses emulated 7.1 surround sound instead of real. This is not entirely unexpected, but you should know this before making a purchase.
Logitech G430
Another inexpensive model is the Logitech G430. These headsets are very popular among gamers as they strike a good balance between sound quality and microphone quality, price and comfort.
The earcups are swiveling and lined with sportswear fabric so they are very comfortable, plus this headset offers 7.1 channel surround sound. The only problem with this headset is the lack of presets – the sound sounds decent, but there’s a lack of expressiveness at both ends of the spectrum.
So you will have to adjust the equalizer to suit the game you are playing.
Best VR Gaming Headset
SteelSeries Arctis 3
We really like the SteelSeries Arctis 3. It’s a particularly comfortable headset, thanks to the design, sporty ear cushions and wide headband. It delivers a studio-quality sound level that’s even more impressive with 7.1 surround sound. The mic does a decent job of eliminating outside noise, and you can tuck it in when not in use, which is handy.
Of course, what’s the point of having good headphones if you can’t use them across platforms? Arctis 3 is designed to work on any hardware with a 3. 5mm headphone jack. Naturally, using a headset in this way limits you a bit – for best results, plug it into your computer and use the SteelSeries software to create and customize EQ presets for every situation.
This gaming headset fits well and sits comfortably on a VR headset without being too tight. In addition to all the pluses, the headset has a very attractive price.
Most Comfortable Gaming Headsets
Sure, you can have a headset that delivers the best sound quality in the world, but if it’s pounding your head after an hour, you probably won’t be using it. With that in mind, we’ve found two of the most comfortable gaming headsets out there.
Sennheiser G4ME One
The first is Sennheiser’s G4ME One. This is a company known for their high quality headphones and with good reason. GAME ONE features a rich sound profile that sounds great whether you’re using a headset for gaming or music, but the main downside is the lack of surround sound. You can simulate it with a good sound card, but it’s not exactly the same.
This is the headset you can wear all day long. The cups are made from breathable velvet and the headband is padded and adjustable for maximum comfort.
The headphones themselves are very light, which reduces neck strain during long sessions. If you enjoy playing team games, you’re in luck: the microphone on this model not only blocks outside noise, but also reproduces crystal-clear, distortion-free voice chat.
SteelSeries Arctis 7
Next on our list of the best gaming headsets is the SteelSeries Arctis 7. It’s a little different from the other headsets we’ve reviewed so far because it’s wireless. It has a very simple design and this has helped reduce the overall weight of the product.
The headband is just a soft elastic band that doesn’t put much pressure on your head.
We really liked the microphone in this headset. It is not fixed, allowing you to slide it in when not in use. The only drawback is that the microphone is a bit short and picks up sounds from all directions. Although it has built-in noise reduction, it still results in a small amount of additional noise.
The controls are not on the built-in cable. Rather, they are located at the back of the left earcup. When you first put on the headset, it’s a little embarrassing, but after a few games, changing the volume and muting the microphone becomes automatic. Even better, this headset can be connected to a mobile phone, and then it will be used as regular headphones. The headset has excellent battery life, and since the microphone is removed, it will no longer be considered only a gaming headset, it turns into excellent headphones.
Best Wireless Headset
We all know the moment when you’re in a close fight and your chair accidentally runs over a cable. At best, you get a little annoyed. At worst, turn off something important at a crucial moment. But you can eliminate that possibility with a wireless gaming headset.
Corsair VOID PRO
If your budget is tight for the SteelSeries Arctis 7, check out the CORSAIR VOID PRO, they’re a bit cheaper but just as good. This headset works with emulated 7.1-channel surround sound, which also provides a complete immersion in the game. The ear cushions are made from memory foam and lined with breathable mesh fabric to keep you comfortable playing for as long as you want.
There’s even RGB lighting on each side of the bowl for a “wow” effect. More useful is the indicator light on the end of the microphone, which shows the status of EQ modes, microphone mute, and low battery. The latter, in all likelihood, you will not see too often, as the headphones can operate on battery power up to 16 hours. This means that even if you’re running a tediously long stream on Twitch, you don’t have to worry about it suddenly shutting down.
Best Headsets for PS4 and Xbox One
You may have noticed that most of the best headsets on our list were aimed primarily at PC gamers. This is because most headsets take advantage of the greater flexibility provided by advanced sound cards, however there are several high quality headsets available for traditional home gaming consoles.
Kingston HyperX Cloud II
For example, HyperX Cloud II. The headset uses its own sound card to provide sound on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. This built-in software also allows the detachable microphone to remove both external noise and any echo that may occur during a call. It’s also super comfortable thanks to the memory foam pads.
HyperX Cloud II only supports 7.1 virtual surround sound on PC and is well suited for console use due to its well balanced sound profile and large 53mm drivers. This means you can hear every shot, footstep, and musical score, further enhancing the sense of immersion you’ll experience when you download your favorite game.
It even has slightly better frequency response than most other PC headsets; this model can accurately reproduce sound in the range of 15Hz-25kHz, not just 20Hz-20kHz.
Astro Gaming A40
Next, consider the ASTRO Gaming A40. Now this headset is really something special. It has increased versatility and can not only provide 7.1 virtual surround sound on PC but also on consoles thanks to the built-in audio mixer. This mixer also lets you tailor the audio output to suit the situation: more bass for action games, more treble for cutscenes, and more.
What we liked most about this headset was its customizability. It can be fitted perfectly to the head thanks to the sliding clip mechanism, but you can also remove the cup panels if you don’t like the standard look. You can leave it like that if you want a more aesthetic look with an open ear. The pads on the cups are held on by 4 magnets and can be easily replaced with others, for example, in the style of the design of your favorite game (sold separately).
The ear pads are made of cotton material, which reduces the accumulation of heat and moisture during an active session. They are removable and also mounted on four magnets. The microphone provides good sound transmission, but there is no noise reduction. It can be mounted both on the left side of the bowl and on the right side, or even completely replaced with another, more reliable one, depending on personal preferences.
Most Customizable Gaming Headsets
Gaming headsets will last weeks or months. When you play, they become part of you, and if something about them annoys, then it’s a little difficult to get the most out of the game. For this reason, we found two gaming headsets that allow for a wide range of settings.
Logitech G533
The first headset is the Logitech G533. It comes with support for 7.1 surround sound, and quality audio typically found only in much more expensive models. The earphones are wireless, have a range of up to 15 meters, and even better, you can replace the battery for longer sessions. The noise-cancelling microphone can be folded out of the way when not in use, and as an added bonus, it automatically mutes in that position.
There’s a handy volume control on the side of the earpiece and you can use Logitech’s software to adjust the equalizer until you get what you need.
One of the strengths of the G533 is its versatility: as well as the ability to adjust the microphone level, stereo and surround sound, or program the mute button for other actions, such as pause.
Creative Sound BlasterX H5
The Creative Sound BlasterX H5 is designed for use in professional gaming tournaments, and no wonder, because it performs very well. It has 50mm drivers and true 7.1 surround sound that really makes you feel like you’re in the game. They also have a good microphone – tournaments are often very loud, but noise cancellation takes on most of the external sound. The leather ear pads are replaceable, the headband is adjustable, and there’s even a decent built-in controller.
This model delivers excellent sound quality right out of the box, but can be further enhanced with the Sound Blaster software for Windows. You don’t even have to put in a lot of effort – it comes with presets for some of today’s most popular games.
Both of these products have a fairly standard 20Hz-20kHz frequency response, but we’d say Logitech sounds better overall. Its Pro G drivers deliver nice, crisp sound across the spectrum, although bass-heavy tracks lose a bit of richness at lower levels.
The best gaming headset with the most important microphone
When it comes to gaming headsets, most people think that they are the most important sound. However, while audio quality plays a big role, it won’t help you communicate with other people on your team the way a good microphone will. To help you in this direction, we have found a headset in which the most important thing is the microphone. It is from Sennheiser, which has gained fame as the best manufacturer of headphones and microphones used when recording audio for games.
Sennheiser G4ME Zero
We also love the Sennheiser GAME ZERO. It doesn’t deliver the same level of bass as the GAME ONE, but it does include an exceptional microphone. Thanks to the high level of noise reduction, your voice sounds very clear. By flipping the microphone up and to the side, you can turn it off. This microphone has a frequency response of 50 Hz – 16 kHz.
The headset comes with a braided cable that is more resistant to damage and helps prevent tangling. In addition, it is made of scratch-resistant hard plastic, and the ear cushions are made of leatherette, which gives good sound isolation from the outside world.
The most attractive gaming headsets
Everyone knows that appearance is not everything, but it definitely helps. Devices aimed at gamers are all too often gaudy, with big LEDs and obnoxious color schemes, but there are products that do the job perfectly and will be attractive.
Audio-Technica ATH-AG1X
The first choice is the Audio-Technica ATH-AG1X. They have large 53mm drivers that let you get as loud as you like, and an air damping system that helps isolate you from external noise. The earphones are very beautiful, with a black and cherry red insert that gives them a timeless appeal.
Not only do they look cool, they are also comfortable. They use a 3D Wing support system and a closed back design to provide an airtight seal, yet feel no pain when worn for extended periods of time. The headband is not adjustable, although it is flexible: instead, each earcup has a distance slider that allows it to fit the largest or smallest of users. There is also a small gooseneck mic on the left side, which is good, but nothing exceptional in terms of 100-12kHz frequency response.
Another good thing about this model is that it is compatible not only with PC, but also with PS4, Xbox One and everything that has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
SteelSeries Siberia 350
Another eye-catching headset is the SteelSeries Siberia 350. It comes in five color options and has an almost invisible RGB backlight. This product offers both surround sound and powerful bass, so it’s a very good choice. They use a hanging headband to reduce the overall weight of the device.
The sound profile is fairly well balanced, but can be switched using dedicated software. Thanks to the thickness and circular shape of the ear cushions, you can feel the sound in the game without being distracted by ambient noise.
The Audio-Technica model wins here with its higher frequency response (15Hz-35kHz), however, as we mentioned earlier, it’s always best to try the headphones yourself if possible. Since this category of goods is about perception, the best choice will be the one that you like the most.
The ultimate gaming headset in every way
Kingston HyperX Cloud Revolver S
It’s never easy to choose the best product from a list of superior contenders, but someone has to do it. After careful consideration of what most gamers want, we’ve come to the conclusion that the best gaming headset of 2018 is the HyperX Cloud Revolver S.
These headphones have everything you want. They work with PC, PS4, Xbox One, and even upgraded versions of these consoles – Xbox One S and PS4 Pro. Or better yet, they offer 7.1-channel surround sound on all of these consoles – a significant achievement if you think this is a common PC-only feature. This can be achieved without any additional drivers or software, just plug and play.
Wearing them is also a pleasure. The headphones have a wide headband that reduces pressure on the head, and combined with memory foam ear cushions, this headset remains comfortable even during the longest gaming sessions. The frame is made of steel, so while very comfortable, these headphones are also durable, depending on careful handling.
But that’s not all. They come with a noise canceling microphone that boasts crystal clear voice chat, and if you somehow find a better microphone, you can plug that in instead. This model has one of the widest frequency ranges: 12 Hz – 28 kHz. This wide range, combined with the large 50mm drivers, ensures that you not only hear everything around you in the game, but you can even pick up sounds that other headsets can’t reproduce.
Best Headphones & Mic
Sennheiser HD 700
We’ve talked about this before, if you want the best possible quality it would be a good idea to get a separate dedicated microphone and pair it with good headphones. Headsets do both of those things well, but you know the old “know everything, know nothing” phrase, right?
The headphones we chose are the Sennheiser HD 700. These are quite expensive headphones, it’s true, but they more than make up for their price with incredible sound quality. They perform at their best in the midrange, but their highs are crisp and clear as well. The bass is powerful, assertive and strong enough, so you will be satisfied. The sound is less warm than you might expect, but make no mistake, it actually enhances the darker, heavier sound without sacrificing pop.
The headphones have an incredibly large frequency response: they can accurately reproduce sounds in the 15Hz-40kHz range – which absolutely outperforms many dedicated gaming headsets and is the root reason why these headphones are so expensive.
Blue Yeti
We chose to pair these headphones with a microphone that is incredibly popular with podcasters, internet streamers and audiophiles.
First, it has real-time headphone monitoring. This allows you to hear yourself when you speak, and while this is a feature mostly used by musicians, it can help you do some preliminary testing and get exactly the sound you want. There’s a dial that lets you adjust the gain on the mic, but that’s not all.
The Blue Yeti can record audio in one of four modes: cardioid, omnidirectional, bidirectional or stereo. This is great when you’re trying to get sound from everything near the table, for example, and really adds to the versatility of this product.
Gaming headphones with a microphone – four models for listening to music, recording podcasts and calls / Sudo Null IT News Today we will continue the last topic and share expert video reviews of closed-back headphones with microphones in the middle price and premium segment.

[20 202] The Audio-Technica BPHS1 is one of the lightest in the category at 264 grams with an external microphone and a closed design. Suitable for long gaming sessions, streams, interviews and work calls. The manufacturer positions BPHS1 as a professional model for broadcasts and broadcasts. The microphone here is dynamic [cardioid], so it captures a minimum of unwanted sounds and gives high quality recordings – you can listen in the review, here and here. Its flexible leg is equipped with a stable tilt adjuster.
The cable is 3.3m long and attaches to the headphones with a lock that prevents accidental damage to the cable and helps prolong the life of the connector – disconnecting is easier than most models and does not require force. An important point: be sure to check for the presence of an XLR cable and a windscreen for a microphone in the kit.
The evolution of the model – BPHS2 and BPHS2C headphones
[27 065] The Sennheiser HMD 300 PRO is a closed headphone with a secure foldable design. They may be inferior to the BPHS line in some ways – for example, in terms of weight [319d] and equipment [there is a wind protection, but the cable must be taken separately]. However, the model has established itself in the broadcast and recording segment – there is ActiveGard hearing protection technology and a decent dynamic microphone [listen here and here with basic EQ for radio, but without filters and compression]. By the way, it can be installed both on the right and on the left cup.
At the time of publication, one of our stores has a display copy with a 41% discount. We are ready to provide it after the control inspection and verification of the device by the buyer.

[29,000] Audeze Penrose are wireless headphones with a closed acoustic design and 15 hours of battery life. It takes about three hours to fully charge, but there is also a classic “jack” included. The model uses Bluetooth 5. 0 technology, works seamlessly with two devices – for example, it allows you to receive voice calls from your smartphone while playing on your computer. In terms of components, Penrose uses the sound guides and coils of the brand’s Hi-Fi models, so reviewers often emphasize the versatility of this pair and say that it is suitable not only for games and streaming, but also for general listening to music, watching movies and series.
This conclusion is also possible due to the fact that the microphone in this case is removable [by the way, there is a switch for it on the cup]. This is again a dynamic type with a cardio. The company claims it was designed by Shure and promises professional-quality recordings: a wireless example and another cabled test.
[29 990] The Beyerdynamic MMX 300 2nd Gen are high-end closed headphones. They practically do not differ in weight from their predecessors in the selection [~ 330 g], but the microphone here is already a condenser one – you can listen to the recording here and here.
