My interest in the multiplayer part of The Elder Scrolls has always been somewhere around EVE Online : nothing incomprehensible, but very interesting. Still, reading lore, the history of conflicts and following the development is much easier than understanding similar games with a lot of mechanics and an interface that is not always friendly to beginners. However, not so long ago, smart YouTube recommendations slipped me this guide, based on previously watched videos on the mechanics of Skyrim and other parts. Putting the background on the second monitor, I continued to do business while I was told in detail about the everyday life of the hero in the online world.

Somewhere in the middle of the video, I nevertheless turned my attention to educational content and after watching the video for a couple more minutes I came to the following conclusion : I used to dislike many game genres because of the fear of the unknown: I skipped roguelikes and around difficulty genres, and now you can’t drag it by the ears from Dead Cells , was skeptical about the Japanese GTA (not quite) in the form of Yakuza , and now after passing part 7 in GTA I don’t want to return at all, yawned while passing horror stories, and now . .. I still yawn. Time to try mmorpg and understand the following – is this genre worth septims or will I get bored in a couple of hours. Spoiler: not tired. The genre requires less time to get into the process than turn-based strategies, but pumping requires perseverance even in collaboration with other players, although time always flies faster in a company.

Morrowind is included in the base game, so the amount of content in the cheapest version will please any adventurer. In my case, it’s even easier: the standard edition is included in the GamePass subscription. By the way: a long time ago the game required its own subscription, in the manner of Warcraft, but on January 21, 2015, Bethesda announced that The Elder Scrolls Online would no longer be distributed by subscription. It’s for the best. Since then, many additions have been released, official localization of the interface and dialogues, and now an updated version for next generation consoles.

I was pleased with the character creation menu – everything is in the best traditions of single-player parts: a wide choice for changing the appearance of the hero. When creating, you need to choose one of three “story” factions that unite three different races. In total, there are ten races in the game . The tenth race – the Imperial – allows you to choose any alliance. This race is not available from the start of the game and can be purchased from the in-game Crown Store. I really love the Imperials, so I forked out for a beginner’s pack, including crowns, paid extra and got the coveted class. You can do without it, but I have a separate love for the Imperials since Oblivion. Next, you have to choose a class through which to swing, based on personal preferences, and then choose the appearance and complete character creation. Nothing complicated: the game provides a description of all classes and factions, although it does not allow you to get acquainted with the future skill line, which would be more convenient for careful selection of the build. You can completely score and follow the advice of the game.

Speaking of graphics, I forgive a lot because of the age of the game and its gameplay. At 60 FPS, the animations hover beautifully around the hero, enveloping him with either auras or rotating spheres – beautiful abilities in bulk in the game. From the start, the game offers a first-person view, which I love more than third, but in this case I advise you to play exclusively in the third. At least because when blocking with a shield from the first person, you see nothing, and from the third person you have a full view around the character.

Zlatodeva – my hero

Can I play alone? Definitely yes. The game has a huge number of tasks, and auto-leveling will adjust them to the level of the hero. There is a caveat: strong opponents are more dangerous for a pumped loner than for a group, but if you need to pass a group test, then the random selection system will help with this. Even if you have a level gap, the game will equalize the chances, so everything will depend on your individual skill leveling. TES:O is not a tactical ranked game and not Warcraft, where everyone has a specific role. Here you can come up with hundreds of combinations, but sticking to conditional roles like a tank or a healer is also worth it. Easier to level in one direction and more help to allies.

As in the single-player parts of the series, there is alchemy, enchantment, blacksmithing and a few other professions. Learning professions helps not only in creating unique equipment, but also comes down as a way to earn money in the form of selling things in the in-game store. I note that it is not the same for the whole game and you have to run to different parts of the world to different NPCs who will have different trading slots. To facilitate the search, you can use the Internet, which will tell you where you can buy the right thing the cheapest, and go there as soon as possible.

I would tell you a lot more interesting things, but I myself am only learning new game mechanics. This is the point: the deeper you dig, the further you want to dig. The game has a primitive scenario of quests, but they are interesting from a plot point of view, which cannot but rejoice in a huge mmorpg. Here is a nice authentic lore graphics with a wide selection of cosmetic attributes, a huge amount of skills for creating unique builds, which even Final Fantasy XIV and a friendly community cannot boast of.

The Elder Scroll Online multiplayer online game was launched on PC and Mac in April this year, the average score of the game, according to Metacritic, was 71/100.

Editions for PS4 and Xbox One were expected in June this year, however, during the porting process, the developers encountered various problems that are unique to each console. The developers said back in May that the console versions of the game would be delayed by six months, and yesterday ZeniMax noted that they would launch early next year.

Anyone who purchases the PC/Mac version by the end of June will be able to transfer their character to any console version at release.

Silly and serious.

Remembering Jagged Alliance 2

The Jagged Alliance series of games is famous for its atmosphere, difficulty, and clever blending of realism with gaming conventions. In connection with the release of the third part, we decided to recall the adventures of brave mercenaries in the past.

June indie games. Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow, The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales, Kingdom Eighties, Brotato

Russian independent game developers are able to surprise in a good way – Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow and The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales are compared with recognized representatives of the adventure genre. Western developers offer you to plunge into the atmosphere of neon 80s and French summer. Indie studios have not bypassed the attention of cozy Terraria-style sandboxes, and, of course, gave us another batch of Vampire Survivor clones. Among which, it is worth highlighting the game based on Starch Warrior Brotato – it can outshine the original.

10 years of hate. Remembering Call of Duty: Ghosts

Have you ever gone back to the old game and realized that history was unfair to it, and the press and the players were wrong? And comparing such a project with today’s products, we were amazed – that’s how they did it 10 years ago! Call of Duty: Ghosts evokes the same feelings.

A foul-smelling pile of ideas. Aliens: Dark Descent review

Aliens: Dark Descent has gameplay inspired by X-COM, Darkest Dungeon and Commandos. But such an attempt to combine different genres made the game a standard “middle peasant” – the Alien series cannot count on more. And the product can only boast of design and atmosphere.

Disgrace. Overview of the Last Transfer DLC for The Callisto Protocol

So unprincipled, boring and stupid that it even hurts.
