There have been rumors that Microsoft will use Gamescon to launch a new controller for the Xbox. However, it was Sony who surprised us during the opening of Night Live with their new controller for the Playstation 5 . El
Dual Touch Edge This is the Japanese bet with which they want to convince all those players who are looking for an even more professional controller than the DualSense we have seen so far.

This is the new PS5 controller for most professionals.

Sony took advantage of Geoff Keighley’s event during this year’s Gamescon to introduce the Dual Touch Edge , a new controller for the PS5 that targets the setting. With this new device, the company wants to satisfy all those more advanced players who use improved controllers for competitive play. During the event, Sony showed only badass , but he invited us to learn about all his features on his website. Shortly thereafter, all of its features were published on the official PlayStation Blog.

DualSense Edge is designed so that you can adapt to more experienced players. Their joysticks are replaceable and will be sold separately by Sony. Depending on our preferences, there are three different sticks available with standard finish, high arch or low arch. You can also adjust the analog dead zone to improve accuracy in certain games.

On the other hand, triggers also level up, allowing the user to set the route that best suits them. Added to this is another novelty, which will also please more than one skilled player, as includes two new back buttons .

DualSense Edge also allows custom remapping buttons and save profiles conveniently and easily switch between one setting and another thanks to a new function button that also provides access to the volume control and quick access to the chat. The idea that Sony is pursuing with this new controller is that the player has everything within reach.

Are these changes enough?

The original DualSense has already become a hit, surprising us all. At a time when Microsoft seemed to have created the perfect controller, the Japanese showed that there was still a long way to go in this area.

However, while the DualSense Edge is a big improvement in some areas, its ergonomics It will continue to be your Achilles’ heel. No matter how many years have passed, Sony is quite consistent with the design of its PlayStation controller. He symmetrical design of the PlayStation control has always been the subject of controversy. For some, this is ideal, but someone thinks that an irregular arrangement is much more convenient when playing.

With this new move, it’s clear that Sony isn’t going to listen to users who prefer the ergonomics of the Xbox controller. PlayStation 5 has a new professional controller for most gamers. When we have it in our hands, we will be able to evaluate whether it is worth switching to this model. However, for most users, the standard DualSense will still be the ideal device. In the meantime, it’s time to wait for the announcement of the release date.

3D Model Description

Dual Sense Face buttons and L1/R1, L2/R2 buttons.

If you want to customize your controller without finding a single button, then this is for you.

Make your controller special. Make it your own.

Everything is fully tested and checked for several hours to make sure there are no problems.

Trigger caps only work on BDM-010 controllers with removable ends

I have included several different options for these buttons:

Solid flat top

900 02 Imprinted logos (imprint 0 .4 mm)

Pause at the height of the two-color print (pause about 8.2-8.3 mm. I paused and printed one color layer, then reversed it. In this case, the print will be deeper – about 0.8 mm )

Multi-color stl (for multi-color printing, they will have a flat top without overprint)

Resin Multi-coloured top buttons

(multicolor printing, then adding one drop of UV resin, curing and post-installation)

Shoulder buttons L1 and R1.

If you experience sticking. Flatten the top corners of the print (check photos).

Also make sure all supports are removed and 100% clean. The underside of the flat part may need light sanding/sawing depending on how your printer is holding the supports. (check photos)

I have some prints sticking and others not sticking after removing the supports. Therefore lightly sand/file if prints are stuck.

Switching buttons L2/R2.

Check photos for removal. There is a small stopcock, then they are pushed down.

They are quite thin, so be careful when fitting. Once installed, they are solid.

3D print settings

print settings :

0.2 or less layer height for all layers

100% infill for best print

support everywhere giving smoothness. Not necessarily, but they look better this way.

On pause/screenshot buttons, be careful when removing support.

Make sure all support martials are removed before installation. Depending on how well your printer handles the supports, light sanding/clamping of the bottoms of the supports may be required.

Everything was printed on my MK3 bear printer.
