1. Which car speakers will fit my car?
It is natural to want the best speakers for your car so you can listen to music and podcasts while you drive but adding speakers to cars can be more complicated than adding them to your home. The size of your car and the size of the speakers you want must match. If you buy the wrong-sized speaker, you could be forced to adapt the existing slot to make the new speaker fit, which takes more time and money.

IMX6 processor for lightning fast response from Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.

Apple CarPlay: Apple CarPlay is a smarter, safer way to use
your USB-connected iPhone 5 or newer (running latest iOS version) with
Lightning-connector in the car, while you stay focused on the road. Apple
CarPlay takes the things you want to do with your iPhone while driving and
integrates them into the Legend CP100. Apple CarPlay offers an incredibly
intuitive way to make calls, view maps, listen to music, and access messages
from your compatible iPhone through the Legend CP100 in-dash receiver. With
Apple CarPlay, you can control these functions from the Legend CP100 receiver’s
6.75″ touchscreen or activate Siri for minimized distraction.

Maps: Through Apple CarPlay, the power and simplicity
of Apple Maps comes to your dashboard; complete with turn-by-turn direction,
traffic conditions, and estimated travel time. You can enter a new
destination or choose a favorite or recent destination using the head unit’s
touchscreen or by simply asking Siri. CarPlay can also predict where you

through the included external microphone, while the other party is heard

Text Messages: Apple CarPlay also lets you enjoy a
better and safer way of text messaging with friends and family when you’re
on the road, through the receiver and Siri. Through your voice
commands, Siri can send, read, and reply to your text messages so that you
never have to glance at your phone while behind the wheel. When a new
message comes in a banner will come across the screen and Siri will read
back the message for you. Text messages cannot be read or typed from the
head unit’s touchscreen to prevent driver distraction.
Music Library: CarPlay lets you access your music in
your iPhone’s music library, plus iTunes radio from the Legend CP100. You
can browse your music by Playlist, Artist, Song, etc.. just like you would

you would from your iPhone. Your iPhone’s touchscreen remains unlocked
during CarPlay connection, so you are able to access additional music apps
and listen to them through the receiver; however these apps offer no
control or display information from the head unit’s touchscreen.
Other Functions: Within the CarPlay’s touchscreen menu
is a circular icon which acts like the back button on your iPhone. In
addition there is an “Main Menu” icon which exits CarPlay and takes you
back to the receiver’s Home Menu.

Notes:

Apple CarPlay is compatible with iPhone 5 or newer running the
latest iOS version.

Bluetooth hands-free phone and wireless music streaming cannot be
used while Apple CarPlay is being used with a connected iPhone.

Android Auto: The Legend CP100 also supports the

Android Auto app for Android smartphones running OS Lollipop (5.0 or newer).
Your compatible Android smartphone must be connected to the receiver’s
rear-panel USB port and be paired via Bluetooth (your vehicle’s parking brake needs to be
engaged to initially setup Android Auto). Android Auto extends the Android
platform into your car in a way that’s purpose-built for driving and
automatically brings you useful information and organizes it into simple
on-screen “card-style” pop-ups that appear just when they’re needed. It’s
designed to minimize distraction so you can stay focused on the road ahead.
Features of Android Auto include –

Google Speech Technology: The receiver enhances
your Android Auto experience even more by incorporating Google’s Speech
Technology using the head unit’s external microphone and your car speakers
for voice command and text-to-speech, which makes using Android Auto and all

1A Charging: The receiver’s USB connection provides 1.0A of
current to power and charge your connected Apple iPhone or Android smartphone
when your vehicle’s ignition switch is set to the ‘ACC’ or ‘On’ position (if
your mobile device has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not
recognize it).

Optional USB Extension Cable: The CP100’s USB port is attached to the
rear chassis via a 5″ pig-tail, so you’ll most likely need a USB extension cable
(sold separately), or an additional Lightning-to-USB cable or microUSB-to-USB
cable (both sold separately) that you can keep connected to the rear-panel USB
in your vehicle.

Note: Make sure you are using an Apple or Android certified cable
(see Accessory list for compatible cables). Using a non-certified cable will
cause Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to malfunction and not work properly.

Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth 3.0: The Legend CP100 features built-in Bluetooth 3.0 with support
for hands-free communication and wireless audio streaming. The head unit’s
built-in Bluetooth allows you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through
the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the
head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also
be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is
compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles –

Hands-Free Communication: HFP (Hands Free Profile),
PBAB (Phone Book Access Profile).
Audio Streaming: A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution
Profile), AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).

Notes:

The JBL by Harman Legend CP100 does not offer auto reconnection for
already paired devices. You will need to manually connect your phone
each time you get in your vehicle.

Bluetooth is not available when you are using Apple CarPlay or
Android Auto.

Multi-Device SSP Pairing: With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can
easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the Legend CP100 without having to
enter pin codes or go through complicated settings (your phone must also support
SSP). You can register multiple Bluetooth source devices with the CP100
receiver, but only one can be connected and used at a time for hands-free
communication and wireless audio streaming.

Hands-Free Communication (w/ External Mic): The Legend CP100 supports
Bluetooth hands-free communication from your Bluetooth enabled smartphone. You
can answer an incoming call from the head unit’s touchscreen and carry on a
phone conversation hands-free. The included external microphone carries on your
side of the conversation while your car’s speakers are used to hear the other
person. From the receiver’s touchscreen you can make a call by entering the
phone number using the on-screen keypad, selecting a contact from your phonebook
list, or using the call history log of received/dialed/missed calls.

Wireless Audio Streaming: The Legend CP100 allows you to
play back stored music and music apps from your Bluetooth enabled smartphone,
tablet, or audio player. You can control basic music playback functions
(Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track) from the in-dash receiver. Advanced music
navigation will still need to be done through your Bluetooth mobile device. This
unit also displays song/artist/album information (no album art) from connected
Bluetooth source devices. When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress
from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be muted so you
can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

Touchscreen & Remote Control

Touchscreen Display: The JBL by Harman Legend CP100 features a fixed
6. 75″ touchscreen LCD monitor. The screen has a resolution of 800 x RGB (3) x
480 with 1,152,000 total pixels. This unit has touchscreen controls with
interactive graphics, making menu navigation easy.

Day or Night Mode: You can brighten or dim the display by selecting
either “Day” or “Night” mode.
Date & Time: You can view date (year/month/day) and time
(hour/minutes) from the touchscreen display.
System Language: You can choose between English, French, Spanish,
Portuguese, or German text

Front-Panel Buttons: In addition to the touchscreen display, the
Legend CP100 features three push-buttons on the front-panel to control Power,

(steering wheel control) input which lets you keep your vehicle’s factory radio
steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel control

Audio & Tuner Section

CTA2006 Compliant Amplifier: The JBL by Harman Legend CP100 is
equipped with a 14 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
amplifier. The power specifications for the Legend CP100 are compliant with the
CTA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the
Consumer Technology Association (CTA). These standards were developed as a way
to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers.

2V/4CH Preamp Outputs: The Legend CP100 is outfitted with 2-volt front
& rear preamp outputs for adding an external amplifier. This unit is not
equipped with a subwoofer output. The front & rear preamp outputs are also not
switchable to a sub out.

Tone Control: The in-dash receiver offers Bass & Treble
control along with Balance & Fader adjustment.

AM/FM Tuner: The Legend CP100 features a built-in AM/FM tuner with
Manual, Seek, Direct, and Preset tuning. You can store up to 10 FM and 10 AM
presets (for a total of 20 radio preset stations).

Beep Confirmation: An audible beep tone confirms each
function selection. The beep tone can be disabled/enabled in the Setup Menu.

USB & Camera Inputs

USB MSC Playback: In addition to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the
rear-panel USB port can be used to connect a USB mass storage class device (like
a USB thumbdrive) for music playback. The unit supports MP3 music files loaded
onto a USB MSC device formatted in FAT16, FAT32, or NTFS. The Legend CP100
provides playback & search controls, as well as displays song/artist/album info
(no album art). You can
browse your music by Artist, Album, Genre, Playlist, or Folder. Repeat and
Shuffle playback is also supported.

Note: The USB input does not support WMA, AAC, FLAC, WAV or other music
files. The USB input does not support MTP or AOA USB devices.

Rearview Camera Input: The Camera Input consists of a
Composite video RCA jack for connecting an optional rearview camera (sold
separately – see Accessories tab) in order to display the area behind your
vehicle on the head unit’s touchscreen. When an optional backup camera is
connected to this unit, the rearview image is displayed on the screen when your
vehicle is placed in reverse gear (purple/white wire must be connected to reverse
light wire of vehicle). Automatic video switching takes approximately 0.5
seconds.

Notes:

The rearview camera feature is meant as a back-up aid
only; never solely rely on the rearview camera when backing-up. In addition to
using the rearview camera, always look behind you to make sure everything is
clear when backing up your vehicle.

Coaxial car speakers

JBL CS752

This speaker system belongs to the coaxial type, which means not connecting via a coaxial cable, but combining several sound sources (in this case two) in one speaker, generating different frequency ranges.

In addition to the high quality characteristic of JBL, car speakers have a polypropylene cone with a metal tweeter, due to which the speakers last longer, regardless of the mode of their use. The system is perfect for installation in the designated compartments on the front doors of the car.

The speakers have a relatively small size – only 13 cm, as well as a fairly decent rigidity, but they sound great in conjunction with a standard radio without an amplifier.

The JBL CS752 car speaker is characterized by a high level of sensitivity and the ability to produce confident bass. The speakers wobble pretty quickly on loud music, and they handle up to 105W of power.

Car acoustics made of high quality materials. It is curious that the decorative elements located on the front side of two-way coaxial devices do not allow the protective mesh to fall out. Due to the built-in tweeter, the manufacturer managed to achieve a detailed separation of audio frequencies in this model.

The speakers can therefore be placed either in the front doors or in the shelf behind the seats. By the way, when devices are placed behind the bass, which is perfectly reproduced even without an amplifier, appears especially powerful.

In turn, the diffuser made of polypropylene is very resistant to high loads. Budget-priced speakers and a 93dB sensitivity that matches the level of professional loudspeakers put the GT7-6 in competition with more premium rivals. According to users, these speakers “beat” in such a way that they can loosen clips and other parts in the door trim, and in addition, mirrors.

JBL CS763

$36 pop car speaker. It’s a coaxial type, three-way, and produces a fairly high-quality sound. Low frequencies are present, but, perhaps, this will not be enough for lovers of trembling glasses. The acoustics handle decently without an amplifier, and for the speakers to develop well, you need to give them a little time.

In their reviews, users, again, call for a modest package: no protective nets, no wires, no mounts. Two columns, a brochure and that’s it!

If your car needs space for a subwoofer, then the stylish GT7-9 3-way speaker system6 will come in handy. JBL CS760C

CS760C component speaker fills the car interior with comfortable sound. It works great with the head unit, reproducing the entire range of available frequencies without an amplifier. Trivial cone made of polypropylene produces deep bass, softly harmonizing with the mid-frequency part. And the tweeters, with the participation of crossovers, perform their functions perfectly.

Users note that the search for high frequencies in this model can be smoothed out using the radio settings.

Adequate level of sensitivity of the two-way system allows the speakers to work at high volumes without distorting the sound. Excellent characteristics, combined with quite affordable cost and high build quality, made this model one of the most popular in the car audio market.

Easy to install, the active subwoofer has some very complex settings. Here you need to tinker to achieve the desired sound. However, feedback from users of a compact woofer suggests that the game is worth the candle.

Speaking of costs. Such a “sub” is not cheap, but in practice it justifies the investment. JBL GT-12BP

A model with outstanding acoustic properties thanks to the Band-pass technology used in the cabinet construction. It is this element of the subwoofer, cleverly designed by JBL engineers, that allows you to almost fully use the potential of the woofer.

And despite the not very high price, the GT-12BP sounds pretty decent even against the background of more expensive analogues. A significant advantage, discovered by more than one expert in the field of acoustic installations, is the rather low level of non-linear distortion over the entire operating range of the device.

Judging by the feedback from users, the original design of the passive subwoofer cabinet, the presence of illumination and the affordable price make the JBL GT-12BP one of the best models among 12-inch woofers.

However, there are some shortcomings, but most of the owners of this model perceive them as quite acceptable.

So, the angle of inclination of the rear wall of the subwoofer does not allow the device to fit snugly against the back of the rear sofa of the car, which is more than compensated by the improvement in the sound of the “box”.
